The Process



Selecting the optimum process for producing a part is an important part of a designer’s responsibilities and choosing the right process can mean the difference between success and failure.

Vacuum forming is a rapid and cost effective process which has the advantage of easier prototyping, shorter lead times and tooling costs in the region of one tenth of that of injection moulding.

For light gauge packaging such as blister and clam packs vacuum forming is the standard.
In addition, the integral strength of vacuum formed parts is greater than moulded parts because the sheet resins are superior and forming at a lower temperature gives the product less residual moulding stress
